Personal health budgets to be rolled out

Personal health budgets have been piloted in the NHS for the last three years. The pilot ended in October. The evaluation report found that the quality of life for people with a personal health budget improved, with some even seeing a drop in their attendance at hospital. The benefits seemed to be felt more strongly by people with the highest health needs, such as those currently accessing NHS Continuing Healthcare.
